MEET Blocksport NFT Club Members: British Rugby Club Salford Red Devils
The Salford Red Devils are a professional rugby club based in Salford, Greater Manchester, England. Since its formation in 1873, the club has been known as Salford, Salford Reds and Salford City Reds as recently as in 2013. The club currently plays in the first division of the British Rugby League System called the Super League.
Being formed over 140 years ago means the club’s history will be dotted with honours. The club boasts of winning six Championships (1914, 1933, 1937, 1939, 1974, 1976) and one Challenge Cup in the year 1983. Other trophies have been added over the years.
In 2011/2012, the club moved from Willows, a home for over 100 years to AJ Bell Stadium in Barton-upon-Irwell, and has been the club’s home since then. The stadium has a capacity to house 12,000 Red Devils fans per home game.
In April 2021, the club launched its’ ‘Building the Future’ strategy, a 5 year plan working with schools and community clubs across Greater Manchester to increase participation and engagement in Rugby League, whilst providing a clear pathway for talented players to achieve their potential.
Committed to unearthing future stars, Salford Red Devils have a School programme aimed at doing this as schools in the area are worked with to achieve this. Among other things, the programme aims at; promoting the Rugby League, identifying talented students, training for school staff, player visits and more.

Salford Red Devils longevity can be attributed to many factors, however one of such is being able to utilize to its advantage changes and trends going on in the world. As such, the club has decided to effectively utilize the numerous advantages in the Blockchain industry.
